Invader is the pseudonym of Franck Slama, a contemporary French street artist who makes mosaics inspired by vintage 8-bit video games. Identifying himself as a “UFA” (Unidentified Free Artist) and referring to his art installations as “invasions”, Invader has installed his mosaics in cities worldwide with the goal of making art that is accessible to all audiences. Invader has taken care to document all of his work, creating maps and even an app to help people find his art. In addition to his street art, Invader has produced mosaics made of Rubik’s Cubes, paintings, drawings, and screenprints, bringing a high level of craftsmanship to his fun, blocky compositions.
