Orit Fuchs was born in 1970 in Holon, Israel. Following a brief period of study at Jerusalem’s Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Fuchs worked for years as an art director at advertising agencies in Israel. Currently based in Tel Aviv, Fuchs’ works span across media including painting, sculpture, knitting, and photography. Her Pop art-inspired oil paintings largely focus on the female image and the various forms it can take in modern society. She seeks to capture the full range of human emotion without glamorizing women or reducing them into mundane objects of perfection through vibrant, color-saturated portraits that recall the work of Alex Katz. Fuchs has exhibited at commercial galleries in Israel, as well as internationally at galleries and fairs in North America and Asia.
